Disciplinary action will be taken against the Excise Department officials involved in an incident of assault at the One Galle Face Mall in Colombo, Excise spokesman Commissioner Kapila Kumarasinghe said.
According to the Police, the incident had broken out after a heated argument between the Excise officials and the staff of the pizza shop at One Galle Face Mall.
At least two Excise Department officials and one civilian were injured and hospitalized following the incident, Kumarasinghe said.
“Police are investigating inro the incident while a separate internal investigation has also been launched into the brawl,” he added.
