Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara requests the public not to panic over fuel shortages as the CPC and LIOC have adequate stocks in hand.
He said in a Twitter post that shortages are due to the non-placement of orders by fuel station owners anticipating a fuel price reduction.
“Dealers have been required to maintain a minimum stock of 50%. I have asked CPC to review and suspend the license of fuel stations that had not maintained their minimum stocks,” he tweeted.
Stock details of fuel as at 08.30 am on 01 June 2023 at all CPSTL/CPC Plants are as follows:
Auto Diesel – 122,769 MT
Super Diesel – 5,739 MT
92 Petrol – 56,797 MT
95 Petrol – 2,318 MT
JET A1 – 42,625 MT
