Separate court to be set up to hear tax-related cases: Minister | Sri Lanka News

State Minister for Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said that it has been proposed to establish a separate court to hear tax-related cases.

He said there is a massive delay in existing tax-related matters due to the absence of a separate court for legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, the minister said a systematic programme has been prepared to streamline the payment of taxes by eliminating the existing weaknesses and shortcomings in the current tax collection.

He said the proposal will be presented to the President next week.

He made these remarks while speaking to the media in Ruwanwella.

“In order to make the tax system more efficient, the electronic system will be implemented through the implementation of the RAMIS project,” he said.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
