MP Ali Sabri Raheem nabbed with gold at BIA, released | Sri Lanka News


Puttalam district All Ceylon Makkal Congress MP Ali Sabri Raheem who was taken into custody at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with 3.5 kgs of undeclared gold and mobile phones has been released after imposing a fine of Rs. 7.5 million and the items confiscated, the Customs said. 

The MP who returned to Sri Lanka from abroad on FlyDubai flight FZ547 was detained by Customs officials at the VIP lounge of the BIA with 3.5 kilos of gold worth Rs. 70 million and several smartphones in his luggage.
