23 job seekers awarded nursing profession in Israel | Sri Lanka News


Air tickets have been awarded yesterday to 23 job seekers, as the 57th batch of nursing professionals to fill vacancies in Israel.

The air tickets were awarded by the Labour and Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara at the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLBFE).

The group includes 19 women and four men, and they are scheduled to leave the island on May 22.

The minister who came to award the air tickets requested them to send the wages they earn to Sri Lanka through legal channel and to use the opportunity they have got to develop the country by doing so.

He also stated that it is their duty to use the salary and experience that they receive in that country to help them build themselves as entrepreneurs in this country.

A total number of 319 Sri Lankan nursing professionals have left for work in Israel from April 28, 2022 until now According to the agreement reached in 2020 between the SLBFE and Israel's Population and Immigration Authority, Sri Lankans have been considered for nursing job opportunities in Israel.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Sri Lankans are entitled to nursing jobs in Israel only through the SLBFE.

The bureau requests the public to refrain from giving money or passports to any outsider to get jobs in Israel. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
