Three suspects were arrested for assaulting four railway employees including a station master for not allowing them to consume alcohol at the Railway Station at Bolawatta in Wennappuwa.
Police said the railway employees and Station Master of the Bolawatta railway station had told a group of men who were consuming alcohol to leave the station. Then the men threatened the employees and the Station Master with a machete and attacked them.
The injured employees and Station Master were admitted to the Negombo Hospital.
The Wennappuwa Police have arrested three suspects, aged between 34 and 45, who are residents of Bolawatta and Mirissankotuwa, over the incident.
They will be produced before the Maravila Magistrate's Court today.
