Hartal in North against proposed Anti-Terrorism Bill | Sri Lanka News

Political parties and civil society organizations in the North today staged a Hartal against the proposed Anti-Terrorism Bill.

They compelled the government to withdraw the proposed bill.

All shops in Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaithivu, Mannar and Vavuniya districts had put up shutters and raised black flags in view to support the Hartal while public transport had been crippled due to the suspending of inter-provincial private bus services.

This created hardship to the commuters although the SLTB buses continued to run as usual.

The principals said the schools opened as usual, but attendance was poor. (Situm Chaturanga)
