Surgeries at National Eye Hospital which was on a stand-still is to resume today, the Ministry of Health said yesterday.
Surgeries at the Hospital were suspended recently, due to complications that several patients suffered after surgery at the hospital.
The use of ‘Prednisolone’, an eye drop imported from India, was blamed for the complications.
The use of this medicine was stopped with immediate effect, as per a directive issued by the Ministry of Health, and a special investigation was also initiated regarding the matter.
It has been planned to resume surgeries at the Eye Hospital as usual from tomorrow.
