Person nabbed with ivory ornaments, tiger oil vial: Wild Life Dept. | Sri Lanka News


A team of officers attached to the Western Wildlife Zone arrested a suspect in possession of several ornaments made of ivory and a vial of tiger oil.

A raid was conducted on the Horana area based on information received by the Wildlife Conservation Department.

During the raid, a talisman, a bracelet, and three rings made of ivory were found in the possession of the suspect.

Meanwhile, a vial of tiger oil was also found in the possession of the suspect.

The suspect and the goods were produced before the Horana Magistrate's Courts. Later, the suspect was released on a surety bail of Rs. 500,000 and the magistrate ordered the goods to be sent to the government analyst.

According to the police, another suspect is to be arrested and the case is scheduled to be heard again on May 25. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
