A 14-year-old schoolboy who made a call over a false bomb threat at Terminal II of Bandaranaike International Airport was arrested by the Airport Police yesterday.
It was reported that the schoolboy made a call to the BIA emergency call unit yesterday (25) and told them about a bomb in the terminal.
When the officers were checking the terminal, the student called again in a few minutes and informed them that there was no bomb threat and that it was a joke.
The Police summoned the teenage schoolboy, a resident of Kalubowila and recorded a statement about his call without realising the consequences.
The teenager was severely reprimanded and released after he had confessed to the police that he was unaware of the seriousness of his act.
