We’ve made it to the end of the first full day of counting (well done).
Things moved much more slowly today than they did on Saturday night. Today, we called two seats: Willoughby and Winston Hills, which have been kept by the Liberals.
There are still eight key seats that are too close to call. It looked more certain earlier this morning when Terrigal had fallen to Labor – but a new booth reported its numbers and forced a significant swing to the Liberals.
The following seats are too close to call: Goulburn, Holsworthy, Kiama (Labor leads by just 752 votes there), Miranda, Oatley, Pittwater, Terrigal and Wollondilly. Check out our full page with details of each yet-to-be-called seat here.
Labor still needs to win at least one of these seats to get a majority – it’s currently sitting on 46 seats.
That’s where we’ll leave you this evening. Thanks for your company today. Angus Thomson and Angus Dalton (or the Angii, as they’re affectionately known around here) will guide you through the day tomorrow as counting resumes.
