State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said that Sri Lanka may receive the first tranche of US$ 320 million of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout package of US$ 2.9 billion within the next two weeks.
He said the IMF Executive Committee is scheduled to meet today (20) at 10 pm US time to take a decision on the extended loan amount to be given to Sri Lanka.
The State Minister said that the full amount will be received in eight tranches in the next 4 years. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
