Royal College emerged victorious over S. Thomas’ College by 181 runs to win the 144th Battle of the Blues and take home the Rt. Hon D.S. Senanayake Shield.
Sineth Jayawardena claimed the final two wickets which sealed the deal, just minutes into the final session. The 10th wicket fittingly came through a sharp catch by Royalist skipper Dasis Manchanayake, who set up the game with a century in the first innings, followed by a fifty in the second.
It was a team effort by the Royal College bowlers on day three with all seven bowlers chipping in with at least one wicket each.
