State Minister of Tourism Diana Gamage has come up with a proposal to allow selling of liquor to foreigners on Poya days, it is learnt.
The proposal from the state minister to sell liquor only to foreigners on Poya days was reportedly made at the government parliamentarty group meeting.
“There is no way for the foreigners to purchase liquor on Poya days, ” she had told the group meeting.
Ms. Gamage earlier proposed that bars and liquor shops be kept open 24 hours a day.
