The bus fare may see revision by June if the Sri Lankan rupee continues to be stable against the dollar, Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association (LPBOA) Chairman Gemunu Wijerathne said.
He told the Daily Mirror that the bus fare revision would be considered along with the annual bus fare revision, which comes into force every July 1.
“We hope the current appreciation of the Sri Lankan rupee will continue and that it will normalize the country's economy,” he said.
After receiving the International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan, the economy would return to normal, he said. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
