Cloudy skies over the southern half of the country: Met. Dept. | Sri Lanka News

Cloudy skies are expected over the southern half of the country, the Metrology Department said a while ago.

The Weatherman said showers or thundershowers could occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern Provinces.

“Several spells of showers may occur in the Central, Uva, and Eastern Provinces,” he added.

Showers would occur in the sea areas off the coast extending from Colombo to Hambantota via Galle.
“Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the other sea areas around the island. Winds will be north-easterly, and wind speeds will be 25 to 35 km/h. Wind speeds may increase up to 45 km/h at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Hambantota,” he said.

“The sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Hambantota will be rough at times. The other sea areas around the island will be slight to moderate,” he said. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
