STC chairman lodges complaint with CID against elements spreading rumours | Sri Lanka News

The Chairman of the Sri Lanka State Trading (General) Corporation (STC) today lodged a complaint over several groups for spreading various malicious rumors about the corruption involved in importing eggs.

STC Chairman Asiri Walisundara told the media that fake information was spreading while the STC is working to import eggs as per the decision taken by the government.

He said a complaint was filed with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) against various associations and individuals who made such allegations before importing eggs.

“All the tests are still being done at this moment to import the eggs,” he said, adding that no one has the ability to make such accusations over eggs that have not yet been imported into the country. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
