Action to be taken against policemen who entered university premises: Susil | Sri Lanka News

Ministry of Home Affairs and Police Department have been requested to take action against the policemen who had entered the university premises during the recent protests, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha told Parliament today.

The Minister said this responding to a question raised by SJB MP Buddhika Pathirana with regard to the policemen and security forces entering the university premises.

The MP said steps should be taken to facilitate a discussion between the student unions and security forces before an unfortunate incident could happen.

He said there have been several slaying of university students in Sri Lanka in the past and that if such an unfortunate incident occurs again, it could lead to a catastrophy not only for one political party but for the whole country. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)
