PUCSL not approved today’s scheduled powercuts by CEB | Sri Lanka News


The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) today said that they had not approved the scheduled powercuts proposed by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) today, PUCSL Chairman  Janaka Rathnayake said.

While issuing a notice the PUCSL said that they will not approve any scheduled power cut until February 17, he said.

However, the CEB today announced that they will have 2½ hour power cut as usual.
 
Meanwhile, the PUCSL said that in order to protect the rights of over 331,000 students sitting for the A/L examination, they would not approve the announced scheduled power cut.

It also said any such power cut during this period considered unauthorized and illegal. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
