Printing of ballot papers for the upcoming Local Government Election is expected to commence next week, the Department of Government Printers said.
An official at the department said printing of ballot papers will commence after the accuracy of typographical errors and corrections of the details therein are re-examined by the Election Commission.
Meanwhile, Executive Director of election monitoring body People's Action for Free & Fair Elections (PAFFREL) Rohana Hettiarachchi said that around 7,000 independent observers will be deployed to monitor the Local Government Election.(DSB)
