State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe expressed hope that Sri Lanka woud be able to get the staff level approval of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) during the first quarter of this year.
He told Parliament that Sri Lanka has begun to receive positive results when it comes to IMF assistance and debt restructuring.
The Minister said the President will make the official announcement once the staff level approval was recieved.
He said this in response to a question by Parliamentarian Premanath C Dolawatte. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)
