PUCSL launches public consultation for proposed electricity tariff for 2023 | Sri Lanka News


The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has launched a stakeholder consultation on the proposed revision of electricity tariffs for 2023.

PUCSL Chairman Janaka Rathnayake said the public consultation was initiated as mentioned in the PUCSL Act.

Newspaper articles were published today to notify the public and seek their views related to the proposed electricity tariff hike, saying that according to the proposal made by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), they are hoping to increase their revenue by 66.2% by imposing a tariff revision.

Accordingly, the PUCSL chairman requested that the public submit their personal views on the proposed electricity tariff hike within 21 days from today.

Written comments can be submitted by fax (011 2392641), email ([email protected]), or by writing to “Stakeholder consultation on the proposed electricity tariff revision 2023,” Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka, 6th floor, BoC Merchant Tower, No. 28, St. Michael's Road, Colombo 3. 

Details of the date and venue for the oral public consultation session will be announced in due course. The oral session will also be facilitated online.

The consultation paper can be obtained from the PUCSL official website, www.pucsl.gov.lk.
