Sri lanka News – Paid wards will be established in Sri Lanka’s state-run hospitals, President Ranil Wickremesinghe said presenting the budget for 2023.

Noting that there have been calls for a reintroduction of paid wards in government hospitals in the face of rising private hospital charges, Wickremesinghe said paid wards will be established at national and base hospitals around the country.

The Colombo National Hospital will have the first such ward, he said. (Colombo/Nov14/2022)
