Sri lanka News- Sri Lanka’s president Ranil Wickremesinghe is presenting a budget in line with an International Monetary Fund program as a prior action to qualify for a resumption of multilateral lending and a lower debt path.

“But can we be satisfied with the perforance since independence? We have to think in a different way.
President Wickremesinghe as Finance Minister is attempting to bring the deficit down to around 6.8 percent of GDP in 2023 from an expected 9.9 percent of GDP in 2022 according to preliminary data released earlier this year.
