Sri lanka News- Sri Lanka’s average coconut prices fell 1.9 percent for the first time in five weeks, at a weekly auction on November 03, official data showed.
The average price for 1,000 nuts dropped to 64,122.02 from 65,387.84 a week earlier at the auction conducted by Sri Lanka’s Coconut Development Authority.
The highest price was 70,000 rupees for 1,000 nuts up from the previous week’s 69,900 rupees, while the lowest was 45,000 down from 60,000 rupees, at the auction conducted by Sri Lanka’s Coconut Development Authority.
Buyers offered 700,664 nuts at the auction, and sold 555,095.
Exports of coconut-based products have risen by 5 percent in the period from January to September to 638.8 million dollars from 606.9 million dollars a year earlier, data showed. (Colombo/Nov 03/2022)
