Sri lanka News – Global Sea Foods (Pvt) Ltd, has inked a deal with to set up a 7.5 million US dollar sea cage farm, the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) said.

Global Sea Foods (GSF) was set up in 1999, to export value added sea foods to Europe, USA, Middle East and Japan.

“This marks the first agreement to be signed at the Investor Facilitation Centre, which was set up to expedite and streamline investment approval process while strengthening the coordination with respective line ministries,” State Minister for Investment Promotion, Dilum Amunugama said in a statement.

The agreement signed with BOI Chairman Raja Edirisuriya, Director General Renuka M Weerakone and Global Ceylon SeaFoods Director Per Marius Arntsen.

The project will be based in Trincomallee, Sri Lanka.

It will employ around 100 workers, the BOI said. (Colombo/Oct30/2022)
