Dayasiri refutes CEB allegations of defaulted electricity bills | Sri Lanka News

Denying allegations that he had defaulted electricity bills amounting to more than Rs. 600, 000, former state minister Dayasiri Jayasekara said today that the utility bills he had received for his residence included outstanding against the previous occupants, former ministers Richard Pathirana and Athauda Senviratne.

He told Parliament that he had punctually settled his utility bills on time.

He said his bill should have been paid by three ministries and that he had written to those ministries to settle them.

The MP said there are several ministers who had outstanding bills and that the CEB General Manager in Colombo does have a list of the defaulters and requested the Speaker to summon him to the Privileges Committee regarding the matter. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)
