Keethi Gunawardane to head Sri Lanka chamber federation | Sinhala News

Sri lanka News – The Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sri Lanka (FCCISL) said Keerthi Gunawardane has taken over as President following the organization’s recent annual general meeting.

Keerthi Gunawardane takes over from the association’s first lady president Shirley Jayawardane.

“ I am taking over the presidency of the FCCISL at a very crucial time after covid 19 and at the biggest economic crisis in Sri Lanka of our life time,” Gunawardane said.

“I take the necessary steps to support the Chambers and their members to improve their capacities in every possible way.”

He is the past president of Sri Lanka Association of Printers.

As its head, he had negotited to make paper duty free, the statmenet siad.

FCCISL said the negotiation allowed the printitng companies to improve their quality and export their products.

Gunawardene was also the chairman of International Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka for 6-years.

Under his presidency he has hosted the Certificate of Origin & ATA Carnet Council World International Meetings.

Currently he serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Trade Information and Promotion at Export Development Board while has had roles.

He has held various other roles in many business councils in Sri Lanka. (Colombo/OCt02/2022)
