Sri Lanka coconut prices down at weekly auction; exports up | Sinhala News

Sri lanka News- Sri Lanka’s average coconut prices fell 5.1 percent to 58,155 rupees for 1,000 nuts at the last auction held on September 15, official data showed.

The highest price was 65,800 rupees for 1,000 nuts down from 74,200 rupees, in the previous week, while the lowest was 50,000 down from 51,500 rupees, at the auction conducted by Sri Lanka’s Coconut Development Authority.

Exports of coconut-based products have risen by 8 percent in January to July to 501.74 million dollars from 462.87 million dollars a year earlier, data show. (Colombo/Sep 17/2022)
