Korea offers job opportunities; salary ranging from Rs. 850,000 | Sri Lanka News

About 2,500 employment opportunities have been offered by South Korea for Sri Lankans in the industrial sector, such as house painting, welding, plumbing etc., for a monthly salary exceeding Rs. 850,000, State Minister of Mass Media, Shanta Bandara said yesterday.

The biggest advantage of this offer is that proficiency in the Korean language and National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) are not necessary for these jobs, he added.

Jobs in other fields such as industrial, fishing, and construction sectors in Korea need Korean language proficiency and NVQ, he noted. State Minister Bandara told the weekly post-cabinet news briefing that skills and experience in house painting, plumbing, welding etc., are sufficient to secure a job in these sectors in Korea.

“Those who have ample qualifications must apply for a Korean job in the industrial sector through the ‘Technical Committee of the Bureau of Foreign Employment.I believe this offer will be a great opportunity for our rural youth to secure employment in a foreign country coupled with good remuneration package,” he said.

A large number of job opportunities have also been offered to Sri Lankans who have NVQ qualifications and fluency in the Japanese language in many fields, State Minister Bandara said. (Sandun A. Jayaskera)
