Female students cut school due to high costs in sanitary napkins | Sri Lanka News

Professional forum of physicians on medical and civil rights chairman Dr. Chamal Sanjeewa said that the increase in prices of sanitary napkins have discouraged female students from going to school during their menstruation period. This has also impacted women in rural areas and low income settlements.

We don’t see women politicians or activists raising this matter.

Therefore we urge the government to intervene and bring down the cost of sanitary napkins.
