Sri lanka News – Sri Lanka will re-allocate 100 million US dollars from other projects to buy medicines, cabinet spokesman Minister Ramesh Pathirana said.

A 70 million dollar loan given by Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank for urban development and another 30 million dollar climate resilience loan for landslides mitigation will be re-purposed, a statement said.

The money will be used to import essential medicines.

The funds were re-allocated due to forex shortages which was making it difficult to import essential medicines. (Colombo/Sept13/2022)
