Parliamentarian Prof. Charitha Herath said that even people in rural villages are languishing in queues for the first time ever because of premeditated crimes, citing a UN report.
He stated that the report shows 5 names as responsible for the economic crimes: Dr. P.B. Jayasundara, Prof. Lakshman, S.R. Atttygalle, Ajith Nivard Cabraal and then Finance Minister, Basil Rajapaksa.
He was speaking at a meeting of the Nidahas Janatha Sabhawa in Katugasthota, Kandy.
Parliamentarian Dullas Alahapperuma speaking at the event stated ‘our model is different. We have only 13 out of the 225 in parliament. It is not a problem for us. We may have lost the presidency, we don’t accept it as a political loss, it was just a numerical loss.
