35 state ministers to be appointed on Monday | Breaking News

Thirty-five state ministers are scheduled to be sworn in before President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Monday, it was reported.

The President earlier announced at a meeting held with former state ministers that new ministers will be sworn in once the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are concluded.

At the meeting, the former state ministers said that the scopes of the state ministers should be gazetted and separate budgets should be allocated for them.

The former state ministers of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) have informed that they will not support the Budget if they were not given portfolios immediately.

The number of former state ministers is thirty four.
