Student arrested for hacking FB accounts of 200 girls through underwear ads | Breaking News

A student was arrested yesterday (29) on charges of hacking the Facebook accounts of more than 200 young women and for stealing their private photos by threatening them.

He was arrested by a special police team of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and investigations revealed that the student, who is a resident of Kegalle, had just finished his Advanced Level studies.

The suspect has operated the scam by opening a Facebook account to sell women’s underwear under famous brands.

He has misled the young women who placed orders through the Facebook account to buy underwear and has stolen the passwords of their Facebook accounts.

After stealing the password, the student has infiltrated the accounts and collected the unpublished photos and information contained in them and threatened the women to publish them.

Following a complaint received by CID, the suspect was arrested after a lengthy investigation.

Following the arrest, it was revealed that the suspect is a student.
