Sri lanka News – Sri Lanka’s shares gained in mid-day trade on Tuesday (30) after slipping for 5 straight sessions, the Colombo Stock Exchange data showed.

The main All Share Price index gained 1.55 percent or 135.39 points to 8,867.86 at 1145 hours.

“The market moved up as the margin selling in eased and there’s a speculation that an IMF deal would be signed on Wednesday,” a market analyst said.

Most liquid index 1.27 percent or 36.03 points to 2,866.70.

The market generated a turnover of 1.3 billion rupees.

Top gainers were Aitken Spence, John Keells and Melstacorp
