49% stake in SriLankan Catering to be handed over | Breaking News

Minister of Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva has said that it has been decided to hand over a 49% stake and management in both SriLankan Catering and the airport ground handling to an investor.

Accordingly, the government will retain a 51% majority stake of the national carrier.

He said this during a media briefing held today (29) pertaining to restructuring SriLankan Airlines.

He added that the present debt of SriLankan Airlines is at USD 1.126 billion (Rs.401 billion).
