A third athlete in Sri Lanka’s Commonwealth Games contingent has decamped, the fourth such individual to have gone missing from the team this week.
The missing athlete is reportedly a boxer, who had disappeared despite not having his passport with him.
Earlier the Sri Lankan Team Management had taken the passports of all athletes and officials to avoid those at the games from decamping.
He becomes the fourth individual to leave the contingent after a judoka, judo team official and wrestler disappeared.
An official of the Birmingham Metropolitan Police had informed Sri Lankan Team Management that necessary action would be taken after the Visa expires in six months’ time
