A young man has died during a clash between two groups at a fuel station in Magalla, Galle.

The Police Media Unit confirmed that clashes broke out between the two groups last night.

The victim has been identified as a 25 year old resident of the Habaraduwa area, who is a university student.

04 others injured during the incident have been admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital.

Police say that the clash had occurred after an argument over an attempt to jump the fuel queue to a space in front of the deceased vehicle. Later a group had arrived with swords and clubs and attacked several persons including the deceased youth. It is said that the victim’s brother is also among the injured.

Further investigations are underway.
