No pharmacies will function tomorrow: Pharmacy Owners’ Assn. | Sri Lanka News

All the pharmacies across the country will be closed tomorrow, All-Island Private Pharmacy Owners’ Association (ACPPOA) said.

ACPPOA President Chandika Gankanda said the token strike will be launched to draw the attention of the government that all pharmacies in the country should be brought under essential category.

The retailers and stockists of pharmaceuticals are doing an essential service in the country.

With the current fuel crisis in the country, we are unable to distribute medicines.

So we told the government and the concerned authorities to provide adequate facilties for us to streamline the medical supply in the country. But all our recurrent appeals fell on deaf years. Therefore, our association has decided to launch this one-day token strike to make the government feel that pharmacies are engaged in essential services. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
