Sri Lanka’s rupee guidance peg steady; bonds little active ahead of rates decision  | Sinhala News

Sri lanka News – A guidance peg announced by Sri Lanka’s central bank for interbank transactions was steady at 359.79 against the US dollar on Tuesday, unchanged from Monday.

Commercial banks offered dollars for telegraphic transfers at rates between 366.79 and 370.00 for small transactions on July 05, also unchanged from the previous day.

In the bond markets only few maturities were active on dull trade as the market was looking for directions from the central bank’s monetary policy announcement scheduled for Thursday (07).

A bond maturing on 01.06.2025 closed at 24.95/25.00 percent on Tuesday, down from 25.00/25.10 percent on Monday.

The three-month bill closed at 24.75/25.00 percent, hardly changed from 24.75/25.15 percent on Monday. (Colombo/July 05/2022)
