Tourism Minister Mr. Harin Fernando said in Parliament today (05) that about seven oil ships are scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka in the next few weeks.
He said this during the debate on orders under the Foreign Exchange Act.
He further said, “These were matters discussed at the Cabinet meeting. A stock of 40,000 MT of diesel will arrive between the 8th and 09th of this month. A furnace oil tanker will arrive between the 10th and 11th. Another diesel ship will arrive on the 14th. A patrol shipment will arrive from Whital between the 13th and 15th. A crude oil ship will arrive on the fifteenth. On the same day a diesel shipment will arrive from India and another on the 22nd. Today, the Opposition is agitated because of that. If this is done, they are finished. We will somehow resolve this.”
