Don’t use rice for animal feed production: Extraordinary Gazette from Consumer Affairs | Breaking News

The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has issued a special gazette notification banning the sale or use of rice or paddy for animal feed production.

This order is effective from yesterday (24) under the Consumer Affairs Authority Act No. 09 of 2003.

Accordingly, all importers, manufacturers, traders or distributors will be prohibited from importing, selling or storing rice or paddy directly for animal feed production or as a raw material.

Meanwhile, the Consumer Affairs Authority said that raids are being carried out to arrest persons selling rice exceeding the maximum retail price.
