The price of a kilo of special wheat flour used for bakery products including bread has been increased by Rs. 25, said the President of the All Ceylon Bakery Owners’ Association (ACBOA) – NK. Jayawardena says.
Accordingly, it is reported that the price of a 50 kg bag of flour has increased to Rs. 14,000.
Prima has increased the price of flour for bakery products including bread.
The prevalent flour monopoly in the country is maintained by Prima Company.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jayawardena says that bakery products including bread cannot be made from the ordinary wheat flour available in the market.
