Some SLPP MPs want lunch provided in Parliament stopped | Sri Lanka News

Around 50 SLPP MPs in a letter addressed to Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene, requested him to stop providing lunch for MPs.

“We are of the opinion that supplying of lunch to MPs and Parliament staff comprising of a total of 900 individuals should be stopped forthwith. We remind you that people of this country cannot afford to buy food as a result of the economic crisis,” the MPs said in their letter.

“We also request you to provide a lunch packet at the normal price which is being sold outside,” the MPs added. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)
