Ranil appoints committee to overcome shortage of essential goods | Sri Lanka News

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has appointed a committee to overcome the shortages of essential items.

According to Prime Minister's media unit, the Premier has appointed Vajira Abeywardene to converse with the relevant officials and to see that essential food is available, while UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene has been appointed to look into shortage of medicines.

UNP Assistant Leader Akila Viraj Kariyawasam has been appointed to look into the fertilizer issue, while UNP National Organizer Sagala Ratnayake has been given the task to look into issues pertaining to fuel.

This committee will be responsible for identifying issues in each sector and report to Prime Minister. They have been given the task of communicating with the relevant officials. (Yohan Perera)
