While supplying 6000 Metric tonnes of fuel to Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) for power generation, the Lanka IOC said that they had always been concerned of the wellbeing of people of Sri Lanka and working with its prime mission.
LIOC Managing Director Manoj Gupta said the fuel is being made available from LIOC’s Trincomalee terminal on round-the-clock basis using bowsers that have 33,000 litre capacity.
He said the decision was taken to provide some interim relief during the crisis situation.
“We are very much hopeful that our modest contribution in ensuring fuel supplies for power generation, will go a long way in easing the challenging situation created due to power crisis,” he said.
However, under the given circumstances, at the request of the Sri Lankan government, the Lanka IOC has made special arrangements to supply of 6,000 MT of fuel to CEB to meet the energy needs of the country and to ease the power crisis while ensuring the fuel supplies to their sheds, Gupta added.
