China tells India two countries should not constrain each other | Sri Lanka News


Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister WangYi met with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar in New Delhi on Friday and said that the two countries should help each other rather than constraining each other , a tweet from the Chinese embassy in Colombo said .

It tweeted that the two countries should help each other to fulfill achievements rather than constraining one another, and should support rather than reject each other.

The Chinese embassy in Sri Lanka in the context of India and China being involved in competing strategic interests in Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lankan government recently suspended a power project in the northern islands to be executed by a Chinese company due to objection by India .

The Chinese Minister also met Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Dowal and stressed the same.(Kelum Bandara)
