Azath Salley’s petition rejected | Breaking News

The Colombo High Court today rejected a petition filed by former Governor of the Western Province Azath Salley calling for compensation to be paid by National Freedom Front Parliamentarians Mohomad Muzammil, Nimal Piyathissa and Gamini Waleboda, over filing a complaint against him with malicious intent.

The petition was rejected when it was taken up before High Court Judge Amal Ranaraja today.

Former Governor Azath Salley was remanded for over eight months on charges of expressing extremist views regarding the country’s law and the Muslim law, and acquitted by the High Court on the 2nd of December last year.
