The ‘Radical Center movement is urging the people to ‘stop the politics of imprisoning witness investigators regardless of the Easter victims’.
The ‘Radical Center’ campaign launched by the late former Minister Mangala Samaraweera has issued a press release yesterday (25) in response to news reports regarding the arrest of Shani Abeysekera, a former director of the CID.
According to media reports, the arrest was made following a complaint lodged by an anonymous petitioner that if Shani Abeysekara had done his duty properly, an Easter attack could have been prevented.
However, former director of the CID Shani Abeysekera, has revealed a number of facts regarding the terrorist attacks on Easter Sunday before the Supreme Court.
The government’s plans to imprison Shani Abeysekera are now a hot topic in the political arena, with the ‘Radical Center’ movement saying that the government should immediately step in to find the culprits and conspirators behind the Easter attacks, leaving behind narrow political interests.
A statement issued by the Radical Center states that nearly three years have passed since the brutal terrorist attack on April 21, 2019, but there does not appear to be a fair investigation into this brutal attack so far.
As a result, the ‘Radical Center’ emphasizes that a serious but justifiable suspicion is being created in the society regarding this brutal terrorist attack.
The ‘Radical Center’, which points out that politicians are not the owners of this country, but mere guardians, insists that government authorities are violating that sacred national trust by persecuting an efficient public servant who acts legally and in accordance with his conscience.
